¾ cup Crisco
1 cup sugar
2 cups uncooked oatmeal
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp allspice
2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup chopped pecans
½ cup buttermilk or water
Cream shortening and sugar. Add oatmeal, flour with soda and baking powder, then nuts and spices. Moisten with buttermilk or water. Drop from spoon onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and bake at 375 for 10 to 12 minutes.
